Senior Financial Controller (m/f/d)

As a Senior Financial Controller specialising in reporting, you will take a leading role in ensuring financial reporting and analysis for our company. In this role, you will have functional responsibility for several key areas, supporting and leading team members in the areas of reporting/analysis, process improvement, cost centre controlling, forecasting and budgeting. This role does not involve disciplinary management, but does involve technical team leadership.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Professional management of the reporting team: responsibility for the professional management of team members in the areas of:
  • Reporting and analysis: ensuring periodic financial reporting (monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements) and conducting in-depth analyses to support management.
  • Reporting and process improvement: Identifying and implementing process improvements in reporting to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Cost centre and G&A controlling: Monitoring and analysing cost centres (e.g. departmental expenses and general & administrative expenses) to identify variances and take cost efficiency measures.
• Forecasting and budgeting: Coordination and further development of the forecasting and budgeting process in close cooperation with the operating units
• Financial reporting and analyses: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and conduct detailed financial analyses to support strategic planning
• Development of KPI reports: Creating and improving relevant key performance indicators and financial reports to measure the company's performance and identify optimisation potential
• Process optimisation in reporting: Analysis and optimisation of existing reporting processes to increase transparency and efficiency
• Collaboration with other departments: Working closely with the finance team as well as the sales, production and G&A departments to ensure integrated financial reporting
• Ad hoc analyses: Carrying out ad hoc analyses and special projects to support management decisions

• Successfully completed studies in business administration, finance, controlling or a comparable specialisation.
• At least 5 years of experience in controlling, reporting and analysis, ideally in an international environment.
• Proven experience in the technical management of teams without disciplinary responsibility.
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, process optimisation, cost centre and budget controlling.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into recommendations for action.
• Experience with common ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) as well as very good Excel skills and knowledge of data visualisation.
• Fluency in written and spoken German and English.
